I have the same issue – ample bum and thighs and a small top half; so the A-line is the best idea ever. For skirts it’s great, and a flared jean instead of a skinny straight-leg – makes me look way more proportionate!

Also, because I have ample hips, thighs and butts I am always told to avoid the skinny jean look and to just cover everything up below with something A-line. Sometimes I rebel by wearing skinny jeans – which us bigger girls are always told are a no-no. Meh, I might not look as good as the stick thin pins out there but sometimes I don’t think I look as bad as everyone else wants me to believe…

great article – though sometimes my boyfriend will say “eh, I prefer it when you show off your body” (for the life of me, I can’t understand why), I’ve always been drawn to wear shapeless dresses. I guess because in my mind people can only “guess” at how skinny I am…they can’t really tell. Of course they could think I am am fatter than I am (and they would be right) but there is always the chance they will think I am slimmer too.

Yah, yah, you shouldn’t care what other people think. But I do – we do – and somedays I would rather there be a mystery about my shape…if I have it all out there, then people will know off the bat I’m quite lacking in the “slim” department!
