We don’t typically throw a lot of celebrity news or gossip up on TD, but we adore Christina Hendricks not just from her various, well-chosen television rolls (Joan Holloway on Mad Men is an obvious favorite, but we both loved her in Firefly, too!), but for her “I’ll never be ashamed of my body” attitude.
We spotted photos of her in her wedding dress (made by Carolina Herrera – a classic!) and we couldn’t resist throwing them up here.

We also loved seeing an ultra-curvy woman in a high-end designer dress! It’s a rarity these days, and we like to think that designers design for women of all shapes, including busty women with glorious hips, like Hendricks.

Look at the back of that dress! We wish we could have seen a photo of the dress with the train down, in all its glory… But this will do just fine.

What do you think of her choice of wedding dress? Does she look great, or could it have been better? What would you dress her in, if you could?

When she’s not giving a sexy smirk, she’s got the cutest & geekiest & HAPPIEST grin ever.
While I think she looks fab, I did prefer her in these dresses…

because while she has magnificent cleav, these seem a bit less distracting.
(Also, omg, I just realized one of her bridesmaids was on the tv show Popular.)

Posted by Ashe Mischief | October 13, 2009, 4:14 pmI’ve been in love with Hendricks and her shape for a few years now – since I first saw her on Firefly. But when I look at this dress, all I see are breasts. Lots of breasts. :$

Posted by Jaka Merriman | October 13, 2009, 4:29 pmI love her shape (have since Firefly), but the champagne glasses are spilling over just a smidge.
It is a beautiful look but I think it might have been even as impressive and less distracting with another inch of fabric at the top of the dress. It is appealing to leave a little to the imagination. Still, she looks absolutely gorgeous, what do I know – I was married in a red dress with a similar neckline!

Posted by Jen | October 13, 2009, 9:00 pmI think, from comparing the photos, it looks like the first one makes her look more cleave-tastic than she is? Either way, she looks fab, and hey who am I to say what someone else gets married in anyways!
Ooh, she mentions she wanted a gypsy band…wonder if they got Gogol Bordello, now THAT would have been a wedding worth attending

I’m with you on that one. Weddings are supposed to be once-in-a-lifetime, and as a busty chick who has LONGED to wear strapless… well, anything! I’d totally spring for it.
Ahh, Gogol Bordello wedding style would be AMAZING! American Wedding, anyone?
