I wear stirrup pants barefooted with square toe ballet flats even when it is cold.

They go with the tall boot trend. Anyone who has sat around for an entire day with a rumple in their skinny pants bugging the back of their calves under a riding boot knows “why stirrups?” As does anyone who has tucked her skinny pants into a pair of cute little short elf or moto boots, and then worried about flashing ankle.

But just as in the eighties, stirrups are NOT ACTUALLY TO BE SEEN IN YOUR SHOE. They are a practical answer to the tucked-in pants problem, NOT an attractive solo look.

Yep. They’re back. I wore the in first grade and I wore them well. I think my legs are too long now! I tried on a pair the other day and it didn’t work… maybe they make them in tall somewhere?

oh no….well, I guess they want to give a whole new generation a chance to be genuinely humiliated when they look back at their pictures 15 years from now. That’s the only explanation i can think of.

(By the way, I had several of those lace leggings in neon green, orange and pink. And I loved wearing them with my over-sized 90210 t-shirt, which just so happened to feature similar colors. Hm, I feel oddly proud of that…)
