I think normal is upsetting because it is such a fluid status....I know that one person may say my size 14 tall is normal for my height and my body type. Another person may say I am overweight and underfit.... that my NORMAL is a size 9 at 170 lbs. I have struggled with weight/body issues my whole life. But when I found myself in a team sport with other women (much more NORMAL sized than me) I was showing more strength and stamina than they were. I would like to say I have stopped the "fat thoughts" but they are still there. However, they are now being slowly replaced by the numbers of my measurements (right on target for my height) and by my health status. (could use more cardio but in good physical health.)

I think it's an interesting topic. My mom gets on to me all the time if she doesn't think I don't match. I enjoy wearing what I like and what's comfortable. If it's not 'in' or doesn't flatter my body, oh well. I wear it because I LIKE IT. A woman shouldn't spend her time trying to please those around her. In a society that bases worth on sexual attractivness, it's hard to be an individual. And let's face it. Sex is everywhere. I'm 19 years old and a proud virgin. I don't put dating above my academics and it doesn't bother me that I don't have a boyfriend. There are more important things. I wear jeans, funny t-shirts and funky colored socks. And I'm happy.
