Our Affiliates
Why we have affiliates
Affiliates are third party companies (most often retailers) who work with content publishers to promote their products and/or website. We sign up with affiliates to fund The Demoiselles. 100% of the revenue produced from these affiliates goes right back into the site.
What we look for in affiliates
We choose affiliates whose standards align with ours. Some of the qualities these companies have are listed below:
- They are US companies and/or began as local companies;
- They have a positive effect on the US economy;
- They sell high quality products;
- As far as we are aware, they have no history of infringement, unethical employee treatment, anti-progressive contributions, etc.; and
- They support a positive body image and strive to support a wide range of body types.

Why: Fashion Bug has been around forever, but hasn’t really received the respect they deserve. They have a plus size section, as well as a “regular” section, and their prices can’t be beat.
For What: Okay, we admit that a lot of their inventory is a little… “fuddy duddy”, but we can’t ignore the extreme bargains to be had – and some stuff is pretty cute! You just have to look for it.

Why: OnlineShoes.com is one of the best places to find comfortable shoes, for a great price. They’re headed in our hometown of Seattle, WA and they are dedicated to customer service.

Why: Arden B. is a sister company of our other affiliate, Wet Seal. They have affordable, interesting clothes with a focus on current trends.
For What: Quick-fix trendy pieces that you don’t want to invest a lot of cash into.
Why: Singer22 gets a bad rap for being SO celebrity-crazed when it comes to fashion. They often promote clothes based on who wore it instead of realizing that their brands are totally respectable, and will sell on their own. We look past the celeb-apalooza and see that you can really score some good stuff here!
For What: Investment pieces, including coats, boots, and beautiful dresses.
Why: Every girl likes to feel a little sexy, just for vanity, now and again. We like to have little sexy pieces that make us feel like Mae West when we slink around in them. We like 5″ heels we only wear in the kitchen. Bebe helps us out with that.
For What: Everything above, and more!
Why: We both love 80sPurple’s tightly edited inventory. We adore that they use independent designers that even we haven’t heard of, and better yet, we love their in-house line “Purple”, which falls nicely into our price range.
For What: Basics turned on their heads, artistic statement pieces, and cute as hell shoes!
Why: We only recently found out that eDressMe had more than just prom dresses! (That’s their sister site, eDressMe Prom). We love their modicum of dresses at all different price points.
For What: Your next “special occasion” dress, or just something to wear on your next date!
Why: Zappos has had a very interactive relationship with their customers since I first started shopping there over 5 years ago. They’re honest, prompt, and despite selling different colors of the same shoe at different price points, they’re awesome.
For What: Pretty much any shoe you could ever think of, ever. They have one of the largest inventories I have ever seen.
Why: ShopIntuition provides us with mid-level fashion that is interesting enough to feel like high fashion without the gigantic price tag (or the knockoffs).
For What: Pretty much anything that screams “fashion!” They have edgy pieces, feminine pieces, classic pieces, and delicious designers to boot!
Why: We love that Gotham City Online works with a different charity each month. They’ve raised over $1.3M for charities since 1999. Oh yeah, and the shoes.
